Photo exhibition "Images of Silk" in Soufli

The Centre for Creative Photography of Thrace, continuing its creative course and following the philosophy of continuous renewal and evolution, implemented the photographic project entitled "Images of Silk".

Using photography as a means of creative expression, the Centre's photographers have photographed silk. The journey from mulberry tree to silk hides stories and moments captured in a unique way through the photographic lens. Works of art from another world - parallel to the one we experience.

The photographic artworks have been printed on silk. The photographs will be exhibited, bringing the public into contact with a 'double' work of art. The silk fabric, a 100% organic product, and the images of the entire production process.

The aim of the project is to allow the general public to discover and get to know the art of silk through the art of photography, through the images created by the photographers. Specifically, the photographic exhibition will be presented in Soufli, the capital of silk, and in Alexandroupolis.

The aim of this project is to promote the art of silk and its contemporary expression through the art of photography.

The results of the project will be presented to the general public through two photographic exhibitions, which will be realised with the financial support and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, the Municipality of Evros and the Municipality of Soufli, and with the support of the Museum of Silk Art.
